With AI accelerating change across industries, building a psychologically safe culture where everyone can share their most innovative ideas is more important than ever.

That’s why in this Fearless in 5, we will address how you can “Accelerate Action” this International Women’s Day on March 8th and beyond:

  1. Invite everyone: Make it clear why anyone who doesn’t identify as a woman should be a part of your company’s efforts. In a no blame, no shame environment help them understand how to go beyond saying they are an ally… and share concrete ways they can serve as upstanders who counteract bias at work.

  2. Help leaders lead: Educate managers on how women and men approach work differently and what they can do to help everyone thrive. Address how implicit bias can hold women back from advancing, and what steps they can take to counteract this.

  3. Encourage women to go for that promotion and advocate for themselves. It does not necessarily mean more work or longer hours—it could mean you get to spend more time in your zone of genius.

  4. Arm women with strategies for overcoming microaggressions. This could be that they’re interrupted in a meeting, talked down to, not heard, or treated as if they’re more junior than they are.

  5. Provide professional development in the places she needs it most. While every org is different, primary areas we see at Wet Cement include self-advocacy, confident communication, building a personal board of directors, harnessing GenAI and minimizing burnout.

Don’t make International Women’s Day a one and done effort. Embed it into everything that you do in the year ahead. And if you need expert help to make it happen, the team at Wet Cement is here to help you accelerate action all year long.
